Exchange License Carrier

 

If you wish to deactivate one or more licenses to activate them on another license carrier (e.g., computer, keyman, Vector network interface), follow the procedure below.

Basic Knowledge: Procedure Explanation

After deactivating licenses, the licenses are available again in their activation key. However, they are still assigned to the previous device. This means that if you want to activate the licenses on another device, the assignment must be changed. To do this, please contact the Vector Support or your Admin. The same key can be used to activate the licenses again.

Procedure

Exchange License Carrier Procedure

  1. Check if you are an EULA or an ELA client.
    In the overview of the main window, go to the column Is EULA and check if the check box is activated (EULA) or not (ELA).
  2. Remove the assignment:
    1. In case you are an EULA client, please contact the Vector Support to remove the assignment.
    2. In case you are a ELA client, please contact your local admin of the Vector License Portal to remove the assignment.
  3. Deactivate the respective licenses.
  4. With the activation key, activate the licenses on the new license carrier (e.g., computer, keyman, Vector network interface).
