Extend a Connection Session
Your network administrator can define session timeout limits for your network connections. Your administrator can define a maximum session limit and a session idle limit. Ivanti Secure Access Client displays a message when you are reaching a limit. The message shows the amount of time left in your network session before Ivanti Secure Access Client disconnects. If you take no action, Ivanti Secure Access Client disconnects when the session counter reaches zero. If you click Extend, Ivanti Secure Access Client resets the timer to its maximum value as defined by the network administrator and continues the session without service interruption.
You can also extend a session without waiting for Ivanti Secure Access Client to notify you of an expiring session. You can extend a session at any time to reset the session and idle timers to their maximum values.
The Extend Session feature does not apply to Firewall connections.
To extend a session:
- Click the connection you want to extend.
- On New-UX, click
and select Connection Details. Click Extend Session on the Connection Details pane.
On Classic UI, click File > Connections > Extend Session.
Or
- In the system tray, right-click the Ivanti Secure Access Client icon to display the pop-up menu, click the connection, and then click Extend Session.
If you find that your sessions are frequently impacted by session timeouts, ask your network administrator to increase the session lifetime options..
