####################################### Notes on PowerIntegrator Trigger Dialog ####################################### -------------------- Command: run analyzerdialog.cmm -------------------- Documentation on installation CD: ..\files\pdf\analyzer_dialog.pdf The manual is written for ICE and FIRE emulators, so it is not 100% compatible for PowerIntegrator usage. Anyway, it shows the principles of how to use the trigger dialog. -------------------- The trigger unit of the PowerIntegrator supports two different kinds of trigger selectors 1. Address Selector An Address- and Buscycle comparator which only works if target adress- and strobe-signals are sorted in a certain way. Signal sorting is supported by the PowerIntegrator but requires a target specific setup (please call Lauterbach support) Without target specific setup it makes no sense to use Address Selector definitions! Only non-multiplexed address busses are supported. 2. Data Selector A Pattern-Detector which detects a certain signal pattern over all 204 trace channels (SELECTOR) -------------------- Trigger Dialog: Both selector types are supported by the trigger dialog. 1. AddressSelectors are entered in the A-Range, B-Range, C-Range fields. Trigger on Address/ranges require a target specific setup! Leave this fields empty as long as no setup was done 2. DataSelectors are entered in the DATA0 and DATA1 fields. By default only PATTERN types are supported. Trigger on DataBus values require a target specific setup! DataSelector PATTERN usage notes: - Right beside the DATA definition field there is a 'V' button. Click on this, it opens a 'Data definition' window. By default the 'Pattern' button is enabled. - Right beside the 'Pattern' button again you will find a 'V' button. Click on this, it opens a channel selection window. - Do your setting here and press the 'OK' button of the DATA definition window. - Now the setting is taken into the Trigger Dialog window and can be use for the Action definition. The results of the Address- and Data-Selector feed the complex trigger unit which supports several trigger levels and counters. The Dialog window is a compromise for easy 'clicking'. But is does not support the complete functionality of the complex trigger unit. E.g.: The PowerIntegrator supports up to eight DataSelectors, the dialog supports only two. If more than two DataSelectors are required, the basic structure of the trigger program can be done with the Trigger Dialog. Save this setting and extend the saved trigger program manually.
