This 'defined' operator has been misused.

For example:

#if defined                        /* Message 0887 */
int b = 1;

#if defined("filename")            /* Message 0887 and also 0888 and 0897 */
int c = 1;

#if defined 123                    /* Message 0887 and also 0897 */
int d = 1;
#endif

MISRA C:2012 Rules applicable to message 0887:

Rule-1.3 (Required)

There shall be no occurrence of undefined or critical unspecified behaviour
