This is a constraint error

A 'case' or 'default' label has no meaning outside the body of a switch statement. For example: 


/*PRQA S 2017,2201,2204,3120,3198,3199,3227,3408 ++*/

extern int foo(int n)
{
   int r;

   switch (n)
   {
   case 0:
      r = 10;
      break;

   case 1:
      r = 20;
      break;

   default:
      r = 0;
      break;
   }

   case 2:                      /* Message 0768 */
      r = 20;

   return r;
}

MISRA C:2012 Rules applicable to message 0768:

Rule-1.1  (Required) The program shall contain no violations of the standard C syntax and constraints, and shall not exceed the implementation's translation limits
