	0515	[C] Equality operator used to compare a pointer with an incompatible operand.

Constraint violations		REFERENCE - ISO:C90-6.3.9 Equality Operators - Constraints

This is a constraint error

An equality operator is being used to compare an operand of pointer type with another operand which is not compatible. An equality.operator can only be used when:

Both operands are of arithmetic type, or
Both operands are pointers to qualified or unqualified versions of compatible types, or
One operand is a pointer to an object or incomplete type and the other is a pointer to a qualified or unqualified version of void, or
One operand has pointer type and the other is a null pointer constant

For example:

void foo(unsigned long un)
{
    if (pi != un)            /* Message 0515 */
    {
    }

    if (pi == 0x8F00U)       /* Message 0515 */
    {
    }
}

MISRA C:2012 Rules applicable to message 0515:

Rule-1.1 (Required)

The program shall contain no violations of the standard C syntax and constraints, and shall not exceed the implementation's translation limits
