Constraint violations REFERENCE - ISO:C90-6.3.6 Additive Operators - Constraints

This is a constraint error

In an addition operation involving a pointer, the other operand must be of integral type. For example: 


/*PRQA S 488,510,3120,3227,3408,3447 ++*/

extern int * pi;
extern int * pj;

void foo(float dec)
{
    pi = pj + 2;                  /* OK */
    pi = pi + dec;                /* Message 0485 */
    pi = pi + pj;                 /* Message 0485 */
}

MISRA C:2012 Rules applicable to message 0485:

Rule-1.1  (Required) The program shall contain no violations of the standard C syntax and constraints, and shall not exceed the implementation's translation limits
