'LL' has been used as a suffix to an integer constant. This is not supported in ISO:C90; long long is a feature of ISO:C99. Message 1018 will not be generated if the language extension option "-ex LONGLONG" is enabled (compiler personality). For example:

long long a = 0LL; /* Message 1018 */
++a;
