ISO C99 Language features REFERENCE - ISO:C99-6.4.9 Comments

The use of // to introduce a comment is a feature of ISO:C99 but is not supported by ISO:C90. In practice it is widely supported by C compilers.

Message 1011 will not be generated if the C++ language extension option is enabled (-ex C++).

Rule  2.2  (Required) Source code shall only use C-style comments.
