Language extensions REFERENCE - ISO:C90-6.8 Preprocessing Directives, ISO:C90-6.8.3.2 The # Operator

This '#' token appears to be introducing a preprocessing directive but it is not one that is recognized in ISO:C Standard. Perhaps this is a language extension; or maybe the directive has been mis-spelled ?
