| Arithmetic type - Assignment | |||||||
This message is issued whenever a non-constant expression of essentially unsigned type undergoes an assigning conversion to a signed integer type. For example:
/*PRQA S 1-9999 ++*/
/*PRQA S 4446 --*/
void foo (int b);
int f4446 (unsigned a)
{
int sia = a; /* 4446 */
foo (a + 1u); /* 4446 */
sia = (a - 1u); /* 4446 */
return a; /* 4446 */
}
Note that message 4443 will be generated for safe (widening) conversions, instead.
