[previous] 4437 [next] A constant expression of 'essentially signed' type (%1s) is being converted to floating type, '%2s' on assignment.
Arithmetic type - Assignment

This message is issued whenever a constant expression of essentially signed type undergoes an assigning conversion to a floating type.

For example:

/*PRQA S 1-9999 ++*/
/*PRQA S 4437,1298 --*/

void foo (float b);

float f4437 (void)
{
  float fta = (1+1);        /* 4437 */

  foo (3 * 10);             /* 4437 */

  foo (0);                  /* 1298 */

  fta = (-1);               /* 4437 */

  return (+0);              /* 4437 */
}

Note that message 1298 will be generated for a constant instead.
